They say what comes around goes around and you never know what the long-term positive impact can be from “doing what you do” naturally.
The other day, I received the note below from a past client my company placed 20 years ago into a meeting planning position.
What a proud moment (and a HUGE “ah-hah” light bulb over my head) it was to realize that of course the time has finally arrived to now be placing the SECOND GENERATION of meeting professionals into positions!
Here’s the note…
Thank you so much in advance for all your support to secure a position in the meeting planning industry for my daughter.
I told her you are responsible for me to crossover from travel side to client side back in the mid 90’s when you placed me at a financial services firm. THANK YOU for paving the way.
My daughter is a very smart and talented young lady with great organizational skills. She worked with me on several programs and my clients LOVES it when she is onsite with me.
They always asks for her.:) Her personality is contagious and always has a smile on her face with a can do attitude. I guess having a Mom in the industry has helped formulate her meeting planning skillsets.
The irony is that this second generation will enter the industry having learned the BEST attributes of the meetings industry by watching and learning from the first generation.
Which means placing them will be a snap for us!
Giving selflessly to others is what the holidays are all about…this note has helped me remember that!
